Bird Family: Buntings

Wooded regions. Below yellow; eyebrows and cheeks yellow; crown to nape grey; rest greenish with yellow-edged wing feathers.

Dry bush. Eyebrows, cheeks and underparts yellow; upperparts olive-green,paler in W, darkest in SE.

Karoo. Heavy-billed, greyish canary with yellow rump.

Woodland. Grey-brown above; streaky crown; white eyebrow; stout blackish bill; white below.

Protea woodland. Larger canary; mainly drab grey with distinct lighter bars on closed wing; heavy grey bill.

Bush and grasslands. Yellow breast and rump; belly white; dull greenish above.

Dry regions. Light brown above with buffy feather edges; pale eyebrows; below pale cinnamon-brown.

Woodland. Yellow below with orange breast; belly and vent white; head black with white streaks; mantle brown with white shoulder-patch.

Forests. Heavily streaked yellow appearance.

Montane scrub. Small, dark canary-like birds with greenish-yellow underparts.
