Description

Fairly common, localised near-endemic resident. Told by very small size, male with buffy flanks and belly; cf. [Yellow-fronted Canary]. Female has buffy underparts and yellow rump. Has a pretty song of sparrow-like quality. Flocks, often with Yellow-fronted Canaries, occur in dry woodland, cultivated lands and coastal grassland. Like [Yellow-fronted Canary] is attracted to seeding grasses. Somewhat nomadic when not breeding.
