Description

Common resident. A small canary with bold facial markings, greyish crown and nape, yellow rump and white tail-tip. The eyes are brown (contrary to alternative name of Yellow-eyed Canary). Sexes are alike. Immature is duller. Has a lively song delivered in short bursts. Occurs in small parties and flocks in all types of woodland, bushveld, forest and plantation fringes and suburbia. Feeds both in the grass and in trees.

Bird Family
