Description

Common, localised endemic resident. Male lacks any white in the wings, but shows clear white panels on its outer tail-feathers. Female is much browner than female of [Cape Siskin]. Sings well. Pairs and small parties occur on high grassy slopes of the Drakensberg, moving to lower levels in winter. Common around villages and agricultural fields in the Lesotho highlands. Habits much like [Cape Siskin].
