Karoo Renosterveld. Red bill on mostly black bird; bright yellow legs; buffy above.

Dry scrub veld. Rufous mask and ear coverts; black breast-band on white underparts; erect tail.

Fynbos. Head, mantle and throat green; upper breast has purple breast-band; underparts orange.

Fynbos and estern mountain foothills. Large, all-green sunbird with a long tail.

Fynbos and mountain scrub. Dark grey above; white below with spotted breast; pale eyes.

Karoo and grasslands. Heavily market lark with short tail and heavy bill with yellow base.

Fynbos and Karoo scrub. Dark brown above; eyebrows and underparts very pale yellow; breast and flanks streaked black.

Fynbos, scrubland. Dark rufous head with paler buff underparts, grey and black streaking on back.

Montane scrub. Small, dark canary-like birds with greenish-yellow underparts.
