Description
Very common endemic resident. Told by well-spotted breast and flanks, pale yellow underparts and pale brown eyes. The voice is a chirping ‘tweet-tweet-tweet’ and a churring alarm call: cf [Drakensberg Prinia]. Its general actions and behaviour much like other prinias. Occurs in small family parties in dense, matted scrub and fynbos within the Karoo – from the southern Drakensberg to southern Namibia. Easily located by its call from within dense habitat.
Small warblers with long tails frequently held in a near-vertical position. Sexes are alike. Calls consist of a single repetitive note and are often closely similar.
