Secluded inland waters. Small shield and culmen red; rest of bill yellow.

Wetlands and river forests Both sexes yellow; greener above; eyes pale yellow. Male has black mask from central crown to throat.

Salt pans. Pink bird with red wing feathers, bill and legs. Birds can be quite white.
