Reedbeds and water side grass. Dark brown above with black; pale below; face, flanks and breast washed rufous.

Secluded inland waters. Small shield and culmen red; rest of bill yellow.

Wetlands and river forests Both sexes yellow; greener above; eyes pale yellow. Male has black mask from central crown to throat.

Salt pans. Pink bird with red wing feathers, bill and legs. Birds can be quite white.

Wetlands. Iridescent blue above; white below; head speckled black.

Wetlands. Light brown above with white and black bands around head and throat; belly white; breast buff.

Wetlands. Large yellow weaver; greener above; eyes pale yellow; bill black; male with orange throat in NW regions.

Rivers. Brilliant blue above; below throat white; underparts buffy; bill black; legs red.

Wetlands. Entirely dark brown waterbird; bill and legs black.

Inland and coastal. Grey head, back and upperwings; bill and legs red.
