


Zimbabwe thornveld. Mantle and underparts grey; cap, throat, central belly and tail black.

Well wooded rocky outcrops. Dark back and white front; female has black head; rufous tail conspicuous; seldom flaps.

Namibian woodland. White under feathers and upperparts and neck brown.

Mopane woodland. White throat in female; white cap in male. Both have white shoulders.

Mixed bushveld and thickets. Above dark brown; breast grey-brown; belly tawny; white arrow marks all over; eyes orange with red eye-rings; bill and legs black.



Broad-leaved woodland. Slender, down-curved bill. Upperparts dark brown heavily spotted white; underparts white, finely scalloped brown.

Woodland. Above entirely deep blue; below buff; cheeks mauve; bill and feet red.
