Game regions. Dark brown eagle, with narrow parallel wings and square tail.

Near water. Buffy with dark streaks; dark moustachial stripe; distinctive grey wing bar edged black.

Broad- leaved woodland. Its iridescent upperparts appear purple or coppery; white below.

Dry thornveld. Both sexes have violet ear coverts and red bills.

Namibian woodland. Dark violet-blue and black plumage; black bill and legs.

Woodland. All grey, paler below. Facial disc with black outline; eyes dark; eyelids pink.
