Habitat: Rocky Areas

Eastern, hilly regions. White patch on hind-neck. Heavy bill.

Rocky hills. Grey above with white crown; rufous below from upper breast to vent.

Rocky uplands. Grey head, mantle and breast; lower breast to vent rufous.

Rocky and bushy hillsides. Heavily streaked head and mantle; white throat and breast; rufous back, belly and vent.

Hills and grasslands. Grey head; rufous upperwings and underparts; upper tail grey; well-barred in female, single bar in male.

Widespread. Female has grey head and mantle. Both sexes show brick-red wings in flight.

Rocky regions in the west. Has orange eyes and white wing-panels with an orange tinge. Often in small flocks.

Rocky koppies, dry gullies. Whitish cap; white vent and shoulders; rest black

Rocks with bushes. Entirely grey-black above; dark rufous below.

Rocks. Rump red; below streaked red on buff. Pale eyes, grey head.
