Woodland. A large, pink-breasted dove with red eyes and a broad hindcollar.

Woodland, suburbia. Grey upperparts; brick-red breast; banded below. Orbital ring, lower mandible and legs yellow.

Thorn savanna. Grey above (female with rufous mantle); white below; red soft parts.

Wetlands. Adult has red-brown neck; young birds mostly light brown; below white.

Inland waters. Non-breeding bird has grey wings. Paler when breeding.

Wooded bush and near cliffs. Dark grey above with closely barred underparts

Karoo, semi-desert. Pale grey above; secondaries and rump white; primaries and tail black; chest grey; belly finely barred. Cere and legs coral-red.

Woodland. Above grey, below banded grey to throat; eyes dark; cere red, legs orange.

Riverine woodland. A grey-headed, yellow-eyed dove with a black hindcollar.
