Vleis and marshes. Dark brown above (with small ‘ear’ tufts); pale buff below; wings show chestnut in flight.

Acacia thornveld. Dark brown above; clear white below; soft parts black.

Ponds. Orange-buff below; blue above; bill and legs red.

Fynbos and estern mountain foothills. Large, all-green sunbird with a long tail.
