Description

Common, localised resident. Male distinguished by grey head with spotted crown, female by white throat and dark, speckled malar streak. Immature like female but throat more speckled, only the chin white. The song is ‘pe-pe-per-pee-pew, per-per, pee-pew…’. Pairs occur in broad-leaved woodland (especially miombo). Not necessarily associated with rocky habitats.
