Dry acacia woodland. Scaled light grey-brown above; cap light brown; lores and chin black; rest of underparts white.

Forest fringes. In the south, a dull-green bird with whitish eyes; Zambezi and beyond brighter green above, yellow-green below.

Grasslands and Karoo scrub. Dark brown above with rufous-edged wing feathers and pale chestnut rump; off-white below with dusky breast.
