Coastal shores. White body apart from black cap, pale grey back and wings with short tail; long, slender black bill (similar to Little Tern)

Farmlands and suburbia. Crown, face and upper breast black in male, grey in female; mantle grey; back, rump and wings chestnut with small white wing-bar.
Cape Shoveler
Wetlands. Large drab duck. Black, broad-tipped bill; orange-yellow legs; speckled all over dark brown on pale grey. Male has paler head. In flight, shows pale blue-green on upper wings.
Cape Penduline Tit
Woodland. Very small size; forehead blackish; throat white; rest of underparts yellow.
