Grasslands. Head and underparts (including underwing coverts) rufous; upperwings grey. Cere and legs red.

Thornveld and suburbia. Light brown above; wings and tail darker; rump and underparts grey-white; eyes blue; bill black; mask and legs red.

Woodland. A large, pink-breasted dove with red eyes and a broad hindcollar.

Woodland. Rufous crest not normally visible, erect from nape in courtship; above brown with creamy arrow shapes.

Marshlands. Small, secretive. Head, nape and upper breast chestnut.

Bushveld vleis. Breeding male. Red collar often difficult to see unless bird is perched.

Forests. Entirely orange except for brownish crown and silver-grey wings.

Woodland, suburbia. Grey upperparts; brick-red breast; banded below. Orbital ring, lower mandible and legs yellow.
