Thickets. Above plain dark brown except for rusty cap; below blue-grey (southern and eastern regions); buffy elsewhere

Forests. Glossy-green head, breast and upperparts; scarlet-red below. Female lacks green breast; bill greenish-yellow.

Farmlands. Light brown above with purple wing-spots; light brown breast; underparts whitish; legs maroon-red

Riverine woodland. A grey-headed, yellow-eyed dove with a black hindcollar.

Woodland. Above metallic blue; throat, upper breast and underwings white; rest of underbody deep orange.

Mountain streams. Very long tail; below white with a narrow black breast-band.

Grasslands. Above grey; wings with central black bars; broad black primaries. Chest grey; belly and underwings white, streaked rufous.

Miombo woodland. Mantle only grey; rest of bird black and white.

Rocks with bushes. Entirely grey-black above; dark rufous below.

Miombo woodland. Glossy blue-green; flanks purple; eyes yellow.
