Rivers. Brilliant blue above; below throat white; underparts buffy; bill black; legs red.

River banks and grassy slopes. Above metallic blue, except greyish cap and rump. Forked tail.

Mixed woodland. Back, tail and wings royal blue; wing coverts black; head and mantle grey; belly chestnut; bill red.

Woodland. Deep iridescent blue; head green and blue; curved red bill; long tail.

Grassland. Top of head orange; rump pale orange; rest of upperparts metallic blue; below whitish, lightly streaked.

Woodland. Head and breast glossy blue; wings glossy green; flanks and belly purple; eyes yellow.
