Description

Common resident. A small canary with yellow rump. Black throat diagnostic when present but may be absent or vestigial. Shows a bright yellow rump in flight and a white tail-tip. Gives a strong and sustained rambling song from a tree top. Small flocks feed on grass and weed seeds in woodland, fallow farmlands, waste ground and on roadside verges.
