Urban. Many individuals of this variable pigeon have glossy-green neck feathers.

Bushveld. Named for its lilac breast, it also has blue underparts and flight feathers.

Wetlands. Above green; head and below blue; blue frontal shield and red bill red with yellow tip & red legs

Forests and plantations. Dark, purple-brown with grey head and purple-grey neck; eye-rings, bill and legs bright yellow.
