Pastures and mixed grasslands. All white except in summer when buff on head, neck and back. Bill, legs yellow to pink.

Broad-leaved woodland. Chin and upperparts entirely violet; below white.

Riverine forests. Head to lower breast ash-grey; soft parts yellow.

Diverse habitats. Whitish heart-shaped facial disc; pale, spotted underparts; grey and tawny spotted upperparts.

Open bushveld. Male & female whitish when non-breeding; Male has head ornamented with black and yellow when breeding; tail black.

Grasslands, floodplains. Crown, back and wings grey; head, neck, mantle and below white. Bill yellow; wattles deep red.

Near water. Buffy with dark streaks; dark moustachial stripe; distinctive grey wing bar edged black.

Game regions. Dark brown eagle, with narrow parallel wings and square tail.

Broad- leaved woodland. Its iridescent upperparts appear purple or coppery; white below.
