Description

Common endemic resident. On the ground difficult to distinguish from Southern Black Korhaan, although it has slightly heavier black barring on the back. In flight both sexes show extensive white on their otherwise black primaries. In all other respects, including voice, this species is identical to [Southern Black Korhaan]. It frequents dry, open grassland, arid scrublands and Kalahari sandveld. Males engage in raucous displays above their territories.

Bird Family
