Garden Warbler

Fairly common summer visitor. A plain-coloured warbler without distinctive markings or eye stripe. Bill rather stubby with a pink inner mouth, eyes large and dark and body plump. Usually located by song, a quiet, monotonous warbling uttered from the depths of a bush. Song usually louder and more insistent upon arrival and before northward departure. Solitary in dense bush or thickets, especially along watercourses and in parks and gardens. May emerge from dense canopies to visit fruiting shrubs in more open situations.
