Description
Common resident. Told by bright green coloration, yellow on wings and yellow leg feathers, plus red base to bill and red legs. Call an explosive, high-pitched yet melodious bubbling, descending in pitch. Flocks frequent well-wooded regions, riverine forest and wooded hillsides where wild figs are fruiting. Difficult to locate from its habit of remaining still among the foliage, concealed by its cryptic coloration. When approaching closely, the flocks explodes from the tree and flies off rapidly.

Bird Family
A well-known group of mostly seed-eating, terrestrial (except for the arboreal fruit-feeding pigeons) birds that build flimsy stick platform nests in trees. The distinction between pigeons and doves is ill-defined: larger species tend to be called pigeons, smaller ones doves. Immatures are dull versions of the adults. Many species become very common and tame near human habitation.
