HABITAT
Pairs and small parties occur in mixed bushveld, woodland and well-wooded suburbia, usually in the upper stratum and invariably noisy. Flies with rather heavy wing movements, mostly below the tree tops.
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
Common resident. All-grey with pronounced head-crest; sexes are alike. The well-known call is ‘kweh-h-h’ or ‘go-way-y-y’, the latter giving rise to its common name. Immature calls ‘how, how…’.
