HABITAT
Mainly occurs in larger towns, where it is very tame. Dependent on human habitation but flocks may frequent cliffs, mine shafts and farmlands.
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
Common to abundant resident. An introduced species. Very well known and highly variable in colour. A wild-living domestic breed descended from the Rock Dove of North Africa and Europe. Main colour morphs shown, but many combinations also occur including pure white, white with dark head and dark grey with white head. Calls ‘coo-roo-coo’.
