Tawny flanked Prinia Newman's Birds

Description

Common resident. Told by clear white underparts, tawny flanks and red-brown wing edges. When disturbed utters a characteristic weeping sound ‘sbeeeee-sbeeeee…’. The normal call is a loud, continuous ‘przzt-ptzzt-przzt…’ or ‘trit-trit-trit…’, the actual sound variable, but sharper and more pure than other prinias’ calls. Noisy and conspicuous, usually in parties of four to six in riverine vegetation and suburban gardens, preferring moister situations than [Black-chested Prinia].
