Description

Common resident. Whiter, more boldly barred below than [Barred Wren-Warbler]; tail shorter, bill blacker. Has a far-carrying, much-repeated call ‘birribit-birribit-birribit-birribit’ or ‘bullybeef-bullybeef-bullybeef’. Found within thickets in mixed bushveld and broad-leaved woodland, but may ascend to the tree canopy if disturbed. Very secretive, often creeping about with tail raised.

Bird Family
