Description

Common, localised endemic resident. Most resembles [Red-throated Twinspot] , but the deep crimson area in [Red-throated Twinspot] is dull rose-pink in this species; female has only the rump and tail pink and has a grey breast and throat. Call is a trilling ‘tit-it-it-it-it-it-it’ or ‘trrr-it’. Pairs or small groups frequent dense, tangled scrub in patches of open ground and forest fringes, darting into cover when alarmed.
