Description

Uncommon endemic resident. Distinguished by black cap and pink or orange bill and legs. The song is a lively jumble of notes similar to [Dark-capped Bulbul] but more liquid and varied. Occurs singly or in pairs in forest-fringing scrub at high altitudes, especially on the slopes of the Drakensberg escarpment. Keeps mainly within cover and is not easily seen.
