Description

Common endemic resident. The male has no white plumage; the upper parts of both sexes are rufous while the belly of the female lacks the black patch of other female sparrow-larks. It calls ‘cht cht cht’ in flight. It occurs in sparse, dwarf shrublands and grassland, mostly on red sands.
