HABITAT
More often seen in flight than Peregrine Falcon . Occurs in most habitats, often near cliffs in lightly wooded country. Also frequents buildings and Eucalyptus plantations.
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
Fairly common resident. Largest falcon in the region, identified at all ages by russet crown and pale-buff underparts. Immature has heavily streaked underparts and paler crown. In flight appears broader-winged than Peregrine Falcon ; tail is often spread, with more leisurely flight action, deeper wing beats and circling glides.
