SPECIES DESCRIPTION
Fairly common intra-African summer visitor in western regions, uncommon in the east. Distinguished from Yellow-billed Kite with difficulty. Mature adult differs in pale eyes, greyish head, black bill (only the cere is yellow) and less deeply forked tail, which appears square when fanned, like immature of Yellow-billed Kite . Immature is paler below with brown blotches.
