HABITAT
Occurs singly or in flocks in a wide variety of habitats, from coastal scrub to montane grassland and protea-covered slopes, plantations and farmlands. Feeds mostly on the ground.
SPECIES DESCRIPTION
Common endemic resident. Identified by grey nape, ear coverts and sides of neck. Female duller than male, and immature streaked below. Song is a series of loud, rolling warbles and trills.
